How does the US Army M-2 compare to other armies 50 caliber machine guns in terms of light armor penetration?

 Hello there

Now I will analyze the M2 Browning and its Russian equivalent – the DShk.

Their calibers are of the same kind: 12.7, however, their rounds are different

The M2 was chambered in 12.7x99, or .50 BMG, while the DShK fires the bigger 12.7x108mm, also known as 12.7 Russian.

To the left, we have the .50 BMG, to the right, the well known .50 Russian round or 12.7 x 108.

What is important now is: penetration of both rounds.

Both are similarly effective, altho’ the .50 Russian has a lesser pressure when compared to .50 BMG which does in fact affect the range and speed.

Whereas .50 Russian can penetrate 15 to 20 millimeters of armor .50 BMG will penetrate 19 millimeters.

Ultimately, both rounds demonstrate some similarities in their performance, despite the fact that they are not the same in design.

P.S: Feel free to say anything you consider relevant, I’m always interested in learning.
